Cancer Society Nelson / Tasman

The team at Cancer Nelson are engaged and forward thinking. They do amazing work in our community and are a pleasure to work with.

We originally built Cancer Nelson’s website in 2017 using Beaver Builder in the understanding that the site would only be up for 2 - 3 years. Eight years on the site is even more relevant, however, some of the focus had shifted and they were keen for their website to reflect that.

Beaver Builder has proven to be a robust page builder, however, after trying several other page building systems we now find that Bricks Builder is more modern and gives us better site load speeds.

How we helped

The site needed to be updated to the new look used currently on the main cancer.org site. They also wanted to

• reorganise the website content and navigation to make it easier for their clients to find information

• bring it in line with current head office branding guidelines

• change the donation system to the Raisely online platform

• change the events system to Modern Events Calendar

• change the shopping experience to SureCart for an easier e-commerce solution

• have separate areas and displays for Services, Fundraising, Team members and sponsors

• make it easier for their staff to manage in the back end

This was a big project as they have a lot of moving parts. We used Figma to plan out exactly what was required and discussing it with their communications lead, discussing what was working and what needed to be changed.
